ABU DHABI IN APRIL

April 20, 2017, 10:51 a.m.

The Sheik Zayed Mosque, also known as the grand mosque was opened in Abu Dhabi 10 years ago as the worlds biggest mosque. Apart from it's amazing architecture, the mosque is also gold plated and has the worlds biggest chandelier and worlds largest carpet inside the prayer room. Many Christian architectures were also involved in the making of the grand mosque. I'll have more shots of it in my April video I'm making, it's truly a beautiful and calm place to visit. The mosque is open to tourists but women need to be dressed modestly including head cover. If you do not have a head cover they provide you with an abaya where you can change in separate changing rooms. I would say avoid visiting the mosque on a Friday and try to make it in the morning or a little before sunset. The Sheik Zayed mosque is really a must visit place when you visit Abu Dhabi. This was the third time I've visited and it inspires me every time I visit.

So... as you guys may or may not know, Hanan is one of my best friends in Abu Dhabi. We use to go to school together and I've known her for almost 10 years! Weird, almost the same amount of years the mosque was built, haha! She takes me to all these cool places when I visit and it just clicked me that it always involves food. This ice cream was one of the places she introduced me to this time in Yas mall right next to Ferrari world. The flower ice cream cones are almost too pretty to eat!

I've been here almost four days and I've done so much since! The first day I landed my sister and I wanted to go out for some Easter dinner. So we tried the noodle house at Al Wahda mall, Asian fusion food to be specific. I would have done a review on this place but I was spending time with my sister after so long I just wanted to relax and enjoy our time and food. I will keep posting on my Abu Dhabi travel page every week because I'll be here for sometime. So don't forget to have a look once in a while. I will be going to Dubai over the weekend for some reviews and shopping, so stay tuned to my travel page for Dubai travel tips ;) I hope you all had a wonderful easter!

YAS ISLAND

Jan. 11, 2017, 12:29 p.m.

Yas Island is a man made island located in Abu Dhabi and is super easy to reach by car, boat or plane. I visit Yas a lot because I live close to it and it's one of my favorite places to hangout in Abu Dhabi. All of the amusement parks and water parks are located on the island along with the formula 1 race track - Yas Marina Circuit.

This is the Yas marina circuit where the Abu Dhabi grand prix is held. World famous racers Lewis Hamilton and Daniel Ricciardo have driven on these tracks. We sometimes love driving to the Viceroy to watch some of the races that happen on regular basic. The main racers happen in the month of November every year and its super exciting because that's when most of the artists come to Abu Dhabi and perform for FREE! I remember a few years ago I was front row with my friends for a free Sean Paul concert on the beach and it was such an amazing night!

While we were hanging around in Yas of course we had to have something to eat. There is this amazing Vietnamese restaurant few minutes away and my father recommended it to us so we decided to check it out! We ordered a couple of lemon ice teas, an apricot chiller, spring rolls and traditional Vietnamese stir fried noodles. It was so so good and dad decided to have steam rice and duck.

After doing a couple of rounds through Yas island we decided to stop at Centro hotel for a quick tea break. After that we walked to Radisson Blu where there is a place that has the best fruit tarts and I can't get enough of it! It's not your usual fruit tart, these are loaded and toped with fruits and the custard is so creamy! One can fill your tummy up for the entire evening so make sure you try them out if your in the area.

If you guys ever visit Abu Dhabi or Yas feel free to send me a message on my blog and I would be happy to help you out with any travel tips! Signing off my last post for 2016... This new year I'm going to be spending it with my loved ones like every other new year, even though I'll be in a hospital cause family is the most important thing to me. I hope you guys have an amazing year ahead and enjoy all your celebrations! Stay safe & blessed.

SAADIYAT ISLAND - BEACH CLUB

Dec. 15, 2016, 4:22 p.m.

I visit Abu Dhabi often as I use to live there and have my residency there. When I am not working I love to head to the beach for a relaxing day or weekend. The Saadiyat beach club is the perfect get away for anyone looking to spend the day beside a pool or beach. It is 220dhs per person which is 8,580lkr, so its better to prepare to spend the entire day on the island.

The pool over looks the beautiful ocean with large, comfortable cabanas on either side of the pool. It's the perfect way to cool off on a warm day nibbling on delicious snacks from the pool shack that runs until sunset.

THE BEACH

The walk to the beach is a peaceful walk through the wild shrubs on either side of the walking path a minute away from the pool lounge. My favorite thing about the beach shack is that all the staff are Sri Lankan and also the king coconuts are all the way from Sri lanka! It's important to always keep your self hydrated on a warm day at the beach.

We always end up ordering too much food haha! but Hanan and I definitely wanted to taste a few things from the shack. The passion fruit is the perfect fix on a warm day along with calamari, curly fries and fish and chips. The food was so good we decided to take some home with us as well! Looking forward to visiting Saadiyat beach club again to try out new things from their cabana menu.

My friend loves to read when she's at the beach. I'm not a fan of reading when I'm at the beach, My inner child comes out and I rather play on the sand, or be in the water or enjoy my scenery. She always packs a couple of good books with her and for me sun screen is the most important thing to take with me to the beach along with a good pair of sunnies. A couple of you asked me where these sunnies were from on my Instagram stories and this pair is from Mango.

I am obsessed with the beach it gives me a sense of peace and joy. Especially when the water is crystal clear and inviting at the Saadiyat beach club you could walk in the beach for miles! or at least up to that red ball haha. At certain times of the day turtles and dolphins come closer to shore and it's truly a beautiful sight! Many of you guys have asked me where I get my swimwear from and if I could do a post on the swimwear I own and I am definitely planning to do a post on that just for you guys.

I can't wait to visit Saadiyat beach club again and spend the whole day on the beach, in the pool and all there super facilities that's included with the entrance fee. If any of you guys ever visit Abu Dhabi you definitely have to check out Saadiyat island! I hope to do more travel posts like this in the future so I can share my experience and tips with you guys and I am so excited for it! Also, if any of you have any questions you would like me to answer about my post or need more information please feel free to leave a comment below and I would be more than happy to answer any of your questions.
