Hi guys!

I know it's been sometime since I've done a review, I'm spacing things out now because I'm putting a lot more time in to exciting things that are coming up. I visited Park Street Mews restaurant last Saturday for lunch and I wanted to try a few things that I usually wouldn't have ordered. We started with the Avacado bruschetta, followed by the eggs benedict with smoked salmon and the sea food platter. Even though the dessert menu had quite a lot of varieties to chose from I went with the white chocolate and yoghurt with strawberry sorbet, because never have I ever tried this one before.

Avocado bruschetta - For those of you who are not familiar with what bruschetta is, it's one of my favorite starters to order! It's an Italian dish that's grilled bread rubbed with garlic, topped with olive oil and salt. It is also topped with cheese, vegetables, avocado, beans or specific types of meat. So far I have not reviewed a bruschetta dish before so N and I decided to try it out. First impressions of the dish was how all those beautiful colors were combined together and I noticed that it wasn't the typical bread a restaurant would use for bruschetta. The bread was so fluffy and soft, topped with olives, tomato, avocado, cheese, onions and greens it all complimented each other so well and we absolutely loved the bruschetta at the park street mews restaurant. If you have never had this dish before, it's a definite must try starter!

Eggs benedict with smoked salmon - The eggs benedict also comes with bacon but N went with the smoked salmon this time. I would have to say that this dish is very cute and I was sad that he had to break it apart. Even though it may seem like a little portion the dish is quite rich and creamy with a generous amount of smoked salmon added. Before I could have looked up again the waiter was clearing his plate... he finished the dish that fast. Try this out if you're heading over for breakfast or brunch, it's a dish full of cuteness and flavor. (800lkr)

Seafood platter - A sea food platter is also something I have never ordered at a review before so being a pescatarian I was quite excited for this one. Once my platter arrived I was taken back by how big the portion was. I forgot how a sea food platter looked like for a moment... The sea food platter at the park street mews restaurant is a chunky dish full of crispy fried calamari rings, grilled jumbo prawns, lobster, grilled fish, thick fries and a mixed salad with a guacamole dip. N and I both shared this dish as it's without a doubt a dish for two, unless you're a champ and think you can finish it by yourself. My favorite on the platter was the crispy battered calamari rings, the prawns and the lobster and the fries and the guacamole dip. I almost mentioned everything that was on the platter. For 2700lkr this dish was highly worth it! Really loved that they added a guacamole dip with the platter, never seen that before. If you're a sea food lover, TRY THIS!

White chocolate and yoghurt with strawberry sorbet - Like I mentioned earlier I stepped out of my comfort zone from any chocolate dessert and tried this one instead. I generally love sorbet but with the combination of white chocolate and yoghurt I was excited to try it out. You're suppose to pour the yoghurt in to the dish full of strawberries and the sorbet. The idea is to have it like a soup and enjoy it leisurely. Both of us loved the strawberry sorbet combined with the fresh strawberries and even though we were so full after all that amazing food we still tried our best to finish the dessert. (525lkr)

The staff was very friendly and attentive not only to us but I was watching how they attended to other customers and they were always on the go paying attention to when someone needed their assistance. I also need to mention about the complimentary bread given before the meal. There are two types, one is toast bread that comes with butter and jam and then there is another cushion type bread that comes with the park street mews restaurants home made butter. That home made butter is absolute heaven! N was a little impatient to wait until all the dishes arrived so that I could take my pictures, he loved it that much!

I hope all of you enjoyed this review :) Thank you for all the love you guys DM me every day, I appreciate every single one of them! Have an amazing rest of the week!

Hi guys! I'm going to get straight to it and ask you if you have tried the pizza at the honey beach club? I know some of you saw my stories yesterday and visited the honey beach club and loved it just as much as I did. I love feed back from you guys! When I was invited to review the pizzas I had no idea that I would be able to go in to the kitchen and watch the chef himself (Chef Kithsiri) prepare these amazing pizzas from almost scratch! You will be able to see more of it on my video so make sure you watch that too, to get a better idea of what I'm talking about. This was my first experience in a hotel kitchen and even though it was not the main kitchen this experience was quite exciting for us.

We were offered water melon juice and two cocktails which were beyond amazing! One of my drinks had rose petals in it and it looked absolutely stunning. The honey beach club has amazing offers almost every day of the week which I think is a fun way to spice up your Mondays and Tuesdays. I'll add all of their amazing promotions below so you guys know exactly when to head to the honey beach club. They also have a special sunset session every Friday and Saturday with Clifford Issac and DJ Ben apart from their happy hours 5 30pm - 7 30pm but this cannot be coupled with any special promotion.

Now, for the long awaited apart the PIZZA! We watched the chef prepare the Tuscan pesto chicken and bacon for us and the second one was a surprise. Only at Kingsbury can you find the most interesting pizza prepared by their ever daring chef. He combined pol sambol, seeni sambol, garlic, pineapple, guava, chutney and cheese, I'm not kidding!

Tuscan pesto chicken and bacon - This was absolutely delicious, from the pizza bread to the cheese and toppings everything about this pizza was so good! If you're a bacon lover this ones for you. The honey beach club has different types of pizza toppings which you can't find anywhere and I love that. Not to mention the amazing cocktails and view you can enjoy while doubling down one of these delicious pizzas.

Sri Lankan surprise - I'm not sure of the name yet but to me it seemed like a Sri Lankan surprise with all those local flavors and fruits added as toppings and with everything combined it was absolutely mouth watering. I was quite excited to try this one out after watching the chef himself wing it and go with the flow, adding anything and everything he wanted to. Turns out this was my favorite out of the two as I've never tried anything like it before and was pleasantly surprised by it! This pizza is not on the menu but the chef will prepare it for you on request. I dare you to order this and share your thoughts with me and let me know if you enjoyed it as much as I did. Looking forward to hearing from you guys soon!

Hi guys,I hope all of you had a wonderful weekend! Off the hook invited me last Wednesday to review their Sri Lankan night menu for you guys and I was thrilled as this was the first Sri Lankan food review I was doing. They offered us everything on this particular menu from string hoppers, to kotttu, hoppers, pittu and roti. We also tried two different types of mojitos as we felt those went well with all the dishes. There's also a live calypso band playing, which adds to the perfect ambience for a Sri Lankan dinner night.

Strawberry and passion fruit mojito - The mojitos came in a bigger glass than expected which was a pleasant surprise. I've always received mojitos in a smaller glass so this was a plus point with our drinks. It taste like a usual mojito with bits of fruit on the inside and we really enjoyed these two. Off the hook has a wide variety of drinks from juices, sodas, cocktails, mocktails and other types of liquor as they have a bar inside the restaurant.

Seafood cheese kottu - This was our favorite amongst all the dishes! I even posted a video of it on my Instagram stories captioning it 'best kottu I've had' and it truly was. I think every single one of you need to head over to Off the hook and try out their seafood cheese kottu. Absolutely loved this dish, definite 10/10 (Rs 460 +100 with cheese)

Jaffna prawn curry - We were given the option of ordering any fish we liked, so we asked the waiter to recommend us a dish and he said any of the Jaffna curries would be perfect. We wanted to go for the crab curry but it's always a hassle enjoying crabs in  restaurant, so we went with prawns. The Jaffna curry went well with every single dish we had, so when you do go for their Sri Lankan night order one of their Jaffna curries! 10/10

Pol roti set - This is a dish of 4 nos rotti, spicy dhal and lunu miris. The rotti was extremely soft with bits of carrot, green chilly and onions in it. The dhal was really good and went well with the lunu miris. The rotti and the Jaffna prawn curry together is just heaven, TRY IT! I would rate this 9/10 including the curry. (Rs 300)

Hopper set - I wish I tried the hoppers as soon as we got them but after taking a few photos and starting with the kottu (as I used a fork) the hoppers weren't as crispy by the time I got to it. It's a tie between the roti and the egg hoppers. I really liked both of these, so give both of these dishes a try! You get 1 egg hopper, 3 plain hoppers, pol sambol, kata sambol and potato curry. All of these are vegetarian so you really need to order a curry separately if you need meat or a seafood dish and I think that really compliments the items on the Sri Lankan menu. They also have the option of prawn hoppers, savory cheese hoppers and crab meat hoppers. Never heard of such a thing before, I'm definitely going back to try these out! (Rs 420)

String hopper set - 15 nos string hoppers, spicy tempered dhal, kiri hodi and pol sambol. What I loved most about this dish was that the string hoppers were super light and fluffy. This was one of my least favorite dishes not because it lacked flavor but because I would simply not order string hoppers when I go out, even if it is a Sri Lankan night. I would rather opt for the kottu, hoppers or roti but it was a good dish aswell. (Rs 350)

Pittu set - This dish comes with 1 roll pittu, pol kiri, lunu miris and kiri hodi. This dish was my least favorite as I generally never eat pittu but I tasted it for you guys just for the review. When I was serving the pittu I realized that it was slightly harder to break, where as I remember it's suppose to break easily. I tried the pittu with kiri hodi and lunu miris and I actually prefer the pittu to be that way instead light. I personally think that it gives more texture to the pittu. My friend said the pittu tasted really good with the Jaffna prawn curry, I think anything would taste good with any of the Jaffna curries on the off the hook menu. (Rs 340)

Kiri appa and hakuru appa - Even though we were super full after trying all those amazing dishes, for dessert we were offered the kiri and hakuru appa. I have never tried any of these prior to the review and I hadn't even heard of such a hopper before. I'm definitely not a fan of the kiri appa but the hakuru (jiggery) hopper was absolutely delicious. I wish I hadn't overfed myself and was able to actually finish the whole hakuru appa, because it was so good! If you go to off the hook on a Wednesday make sure to end your meal with one of these hoppers.
